We got our EAD cards today.
We had gone for FP on Sept 19th and saw LUDs on Sep 20th on our I-485s. But the EAD cards came without our fingerprints. EAD cards came from the same Service center (Nebraska) where the FP notices came from. So wondering, how they did not include our fingerprints in the EAD card?? I had also checked with FBI helpline two weeks back and verified that the FPs were delivered to USCIS.
Anybody else in similar situation?
July 29 filer, Nebraska
I-140 approved from Texas , Jan 2007
EB-3, PD: May 11 2001
When you did your FP, for what particular benefit it was intended? Was it strictly for 485 or was it combined for 485 and 765? If it was just for 485 - why do you expect it appear on your 765 and EAD card? As far as it known, 485 and 765 are complete different things and not related to each other in any way. Didn't you know that?

Hi All,
Please help!!
I will be completing my first 3yrs of H1 in Sept 2010. My I-797 is valid till Sept 2010. I-94 & H1 visa expired on April 4th 2010.
My company has applied for 1-129 on April 1st 2010.
I have a few questions -
1. Since my 1-94 is expired and H1 too, am "I out of status"? - I-129 is still pending, I have received the receipt from USCIS on April 12, 2010.
2. If I am out of status, is it going to effect my visa renewal or H1 extensio?
3. What to do?
Your response will be highly appreciated, I am very confused.
Thanks & Regards.

Any word on when PP for I-140 will come to life?
USCIS said PP is suspended till 8/1 and later will analyze the situation to bring it back. The analysis is talking more than a month. It is known that they have been busy people this past month. Is the I-140 application flood effecting their analysis?

High-tech immigrants
protest visa delays
About 1,000 highly skilled legal immigrants, carrying placards and cell phones and wearing T-shirts emblazoned with U.S. flags, rallied Tuesday at the Capitol to protest long delays and vast bureaucratic backlogs in the immigration system.
The immigrants, including computer engineers, doctors and medical technicians from India and China, came from as far as California and Washington state to call on Congress to provide more permanent visas for highly educated immigrants and more resources for the overburdened immigration system. They said the plight of foreigners living in the United States legally had been eclipsed by the polarized debate over illegal
immigration that led to the defeat of an immigration overhaul in June.
The immigrants, who are living in the United States on student or high-skilled employment visas, said they were nearing despair with waits lasting as long as a decade to obtain visas giving them permanent residence, which are known as a green cards.

Unless you know the outcome, you never know.
Just be candid and talk to your employer. Sometimes they don't even know this as diff ppl in HR handle and interpret cases differently. I would talk to my employer.
my employer has no clue whether it can be done or not. however i posted this same Q to my attorney. i am waiting for the response from him. If anyone else have any inputs, i would appreciate it.

Apologies if I should have looked this up somewhere within IV .
Guess it is a simple question.
What does a soft LUD mean ? I have often read that term on the forum.
I at times see that something was updated on my case..."last updated date" but then there is no status update.....for example this happened on my I131 application on Feb 4, 2009
On the I485 I think it is just that they transferred it from one office to another as the status says.
=============================
Last updated | Form number
2/4/2009 | I131
2/5/2009 | I485

Can someone explain how the lawyer files I-485(Does she e-file? or mail it to USCIS?) and how we know about it? How long does it take to know you have filed it? and how do we know about it?Lawyer mail the package to USCIS. Good lawyer tell their client tracking number and then send email with case numbers and copies of receipt notices.

All,
I saw the following data released on Murthy bulletin today about PERM and BPC cases. I thought I will share it with you all.
PERM:
The DOL states that 80,272 PERM cases were filed during the above timeframe. Of these, 36,687 have been certified, 1,950 have been withdrawn, and 23,205 have been denied. The denials have been for a variety of reasons, including small errors made on the forms. Thus, many of these cases were refiled and may have been approved, ultimately. The remaining cases are pending.
There have been 24,960 audits. A breakdown of the number of cases approved and denied after an audit was not provided.
BPC:
The backlog processing centers (BPCs) began with just over 363,000 labor certifications in the backlog. The DOL reports that 108,000 of these cases have been completed. There are at least 255,000 cases that have not been completed. Of those cases completed, approximately 50,000 have been certified. This does not mean that there have been high rates of BPC denials. We believe it reflects the fact that a case is deemed "complete" if the employer chooses not to go forward at the 45-day letter stage.
DOL believes that all special-handling cases have been identified and contacted. Full data entry for all cases still appears to be slated for a June 30, 2006 completion.
This data may help us in doing some more calculations for regrogression date movements.

I just added some random shots from the trip into my gallery, but here are a couple from Emerald Pool:

Supposedly, the water in the pool is normally an emerald green color... it was only slightly green when we were there. :(
