Too many times such stuff has been said and always proved to be hot gas from from some politicians mouth.
All this while EB suffers.
An illegal is still going to do a $8/hr job, whether you give him a green card or not. He is still not going to pay taxes because he will get paid in cash. All that will change is that the illegal will be able to send sponsorship for his 50,000 cousins and uncles.
EB will continue to suffer..as always.

I am consultant and travel around. My company, a publicly listed company, is headquartered in Washington DC. For the I-485 filing, I got my medical done in my current project location in Florida and used my address in florida in the I-693 form.
My lawyer is advicing that I should be using the same address in my I-485 form. I have a 'permanent' adress in the DC area and I was thinking I could use that since I will be leaving florida within a year but I will follow my attorney's address and use the florida address.
Now to my question....
Would there be a problem later on if I update my address to my DC address after I recieve my Fingerprinting/EAD/AP. Any related comments will be appreciated

It is mentioned by many that PD should be current at the time of GC approval. Is that right?
I know people from India who got their GC approved when their PD is not current.
One can check this easily in looking for I-485 approvals to people from India who submitted their applications concurrently in EB2 category after say april 2004. Disregard the cases which got approved in July 2007. Still there are many cases remaining invalidating the 'rule'!

Well, when I talked to lawyer, even though he knew I have degree and Nclex from US, he asked me to get CGFNS visa screen.
Does this makes sense?

Democrats are usually pro illegal immigrants since they would be getting more votes by legalizing illegals. Republicans are more pro business and hece are usually more open to legal immigrants but even they seem to be taken over by anti-immigrant hard core conservatives these days.

Could you please pm us the IP address of your machine. It will help us to diagnose the problem and/or let you know the reason. Its possible that your work environment is using NATing. My current company's CEO is retiring and the other partners are forming a new company. The current company will continue as a corporation and in the new corporation the current CEO will have 10% share. The new co will start with the current client base, employees, equipment, web site and use the current company's name as a DBA.
I am on H1-B visa with the current company and in the process for Permanent Residency with my I-140 approved and awaiting for the Priority Date to become current .
If the current company terminated me and i got re-hired with the new co.. what would i need to do for my H1-B visa and the Green card process. Please advice ASAP.

If its a new company, you need to do H1B transfer and start the GC from PERM. If the I-140 is not revoked, you can retain the PD.

I am on H1B in USA and am an Indian citizen. I have been divorced and about to get remarried. My would be has a natural born kid of from her previous marriage before her husband expired. I will marry her legally per Hindu custom and then complete the registration after that. I will adopt her kid also as per proper procedure.
This is NOT like regular adoption. Usually when a couple can't have any kid of their own, they adopt someone. Or despite having a kid they adopt another kid etc. In these cases getting an H4 is very tough, or so I heard.
Shall I be able to get an H4 for this biological kid of my would be spouse? Again, she is a biological kid of her.
